Con Men...Not Congress

Gas prices have soared all year long, and our United States Congress has done nothing to stop it. In fact, they've voted to go on recess, rather than pass one single piece of legislation to get the ball rolling to solve our energy problem. The Democrats rode into office assuring us that they would "change" things, especially the oil crisis. (Does that word change sound familiar?)

To date, what have they accomplished?

Absolutely nothing! Reid and Pelosi are the most inept leaders this country has ever known. They have teamed up to block any drilling or energy strategies that would give all of us relief at the gas pump. Speaker Peosi plainly stated in a recent CNN interview, in fact, that when it comes to allowing a vote on the reforms the American people expect and support, she has "no plans to do so."

Someone is running on that one word--change. That someone is a Democrat, and I submit to you ladies and gentlemen that change simply means a change in someone's wallet, making it fatter. That wallet always seems to belong to the politicians...

Barry's World Tour--What You Didn't Hear

The Messiah is on his way home, having rocked the world with his intellect and shining persona. The left was following his every move on this "alleged" fact finding tour. Throngs of people attended the "staged" events and displayed signs touting his name. Spontaneous you ask? No--signs were provided by Obama's campaign. At a holy site in Jerusalem at the Western Wall, police confirmed that the campaign provided the signs. Not the normal course of events there.

Next, the crowd that awaited his speech in Germany...they were there for free food, beer, and a concert by two popular rock bands. The left won't tell you that. As soon as the event ended, The Appointed One spoke. His message was prefaced with the comment that he was there as a citizen of the world, not as a candidate. Yet he used the speech on his website to raise cash.

Oh yeah, one other thing the lib media won't report. His world tour was to include a stop at the hospital to visit the wounded troops. When he was told by the Pentagon that his visit would not include his entourage and press corps, he mysteriously cancelled. Not enough bang for the buck, huh Barry?

As each day passes, we begin to see the real Obama emerge--a political huckster who interjects race so that he can assume the mantle of victim hood, lest anyone criticize him. He has arrogantly assumed that the presidency is his, and thus he longs to begin to write his legacy. One last point... Remind me again of his credentials please: A community organizer with 143 days in the Senate, with no legislative accomplishments to his name, and who votes "present" the majority of the time. I'd rather have the person that delivers my daily paper in that office than someone like Obama.

The TSA Is At It Again

Ask 71 year old Robert Perry what he thinks about TSA Airport Security. Recently in Chicago he was going through security in his wheelchair, on his way to Florida with his wife to celebrate 50 years of marriage. Of course TSA preys on folks that show no inclination, nor fit any profile, toward being suspicious or bent on a terrorist act. Perry was singled out for extra checks, and put in a see through room adjacent to the checkpoint. His wheelchair was examined, he was patted down, and his hands were swabbed--all in view of the public.

Perry's artificial knee had set off the metal detector, but the security agent yelled at him to take his belt off. Once he did, the TSA officer yanked his pants down around his ankles, leaving him standing in his underwear in full view of everyone. He asked to see a supervisor at this point. That only made things worse. "She was yelling 'I have power, I have power, I have power," Perry said.

In another recent case, a woman was forced to use a pliers to remove her nipple rings in view of TSA officers. And 16 year old Michael Angone, a female member of a Children's Choir that travels frequently, was subjected to a full body pat down, to include under her bra. Why? Because she has an artificial leg to replace the one that was amputated due to cancer.

Can one honestly say that these are reasonable searches? I think not. TSA needs re-tooling and some comprehensive oversight by some entity other than the federal government. They're out of control and leaving this country vulnerable to real terrorists--not disabled folks and those with piercings.

The Answer To $4 A Gallon Gas: Make It More Expensive!

So...the Dems came into office spouting the mantra that they would do something about the high price of gasoline. Several years later, and with gas prices higher than they've ever been, their answer to the problem is this: no drilling, conservation, and add ten cents to the already 18 1/2 cents per gallon federal tax. Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that? Is there any wonder why the approval rating for Congress is in the single digits?

The only other thing that is perplexing, is McCain's inability to capitalize on this singular point that everyone in the country is upset about. Has he lost the will to fight, or have all those trips across the aisle to the Dems side caused him to be too weary for a slug fest? C'mon McCain, show us what you got!

THE "I" WORD

Yesterday on the TV talk show The View, Whoopi Goldberg was all over Elizabeth Hasselbeck about the "N" word. The whole issue stemmed from Jesse (give me all your money) Jackson, being overheard using the word referring to Obama. Whoopi's position is that it's okay for Black people to use it, but not anyone else. The other Black panelist said she uses it as a term of endearment. That's funny, a term that has incited riots and other violence is okay for some, but not for others. When there's a double standard it causes divisions in society, and confuses people making them unsure as to what language is and is not permissible. With all of the uproar over the word the past few years, my take is that anyone that uses the "N" word is an "I" word--an IDIOT!

Fair and Balanced? Sure...

Still think that the media is unbiased and gives a balanced report on the news? Obama is on his way to Iraq with three anchor persons in tow, all from the left. When McCain went there, CBS didn't even send a reporter to cover the event. Where's the parity? There is none when it comes to Republican/Conservative events.

IT'S GOOD TO BE ILLEGAL

So what’s new in the world of illegal immigrants? Nothing—it’s business as usual in Montgomery County, MD where the nitwits in the County Council passed a new law requiring that those workers hired for domestic purposes, i.e., live-in nannies, must be provided with the following:

· A written contract
· A separate room for sleeping
· And "reasonable access" to a bathroom, kitchen and laundry room

All these benefits heaped on the illegals despite the fact that a George Washington University study found that the illegal nannies in MC rank among the best paid and most satisfied with their employer anywhere in the USA.

What’s missing here you might ask? Isn’t it obvious? Not one word about the fact that we are passing onerous legislation on the citizens of our country to provide for illegals that are here breaking the law! Is it just me or is the train off the track here?

YOU SURE IT'S THE ECONOMY, STUPID?

I see all the liberal media, blogs, and talking heads trying to tell us how bad the economy is. I hear Obama talking about giving relief to families that need it (can you say more government handouts). I hear the left, and McCain, knocking former Senator Graham for saying that we're a bunch of whiners.

Just tell me this...if we're in a recession, and things are so bad, why do I not see bread lines, soup kitchens, or government handing out free cheese. All I see is people waiting in line to buy the latest IPod phone or Wii game.

The reason? Dems want you to feel bad so that they can rescue you. They need you to feel like victims. When you depend on your government for everything, they are in control. Sounds like Jesse (Shakedown) Jackson has more than Obama's n*** in his sights...

THUGS RULE! CRIME ENCOURAGED BY U.S.

Dateline Baltimore: W.E.B.Dubois H.S. was awarded $3.6 million to pay for mentoring programs to prepare students for jobs. The school was one of nine violent high schools across the nation that received government money based on their disruptive students (18 schools across the nation were eligible). The sole criterion...persistently high levels of violence. Who says crime doesn't pay. As for the students that consistently behave and never miss a day of school...who cares about you? The libs strike again.

TAKE THAT YOU THUGS! The Second Ammendment Lives!

A Grand Jury in Texas did the right thing--they decided not to indict Joe Horn in the shooting of two illegal immigrants that were burglarizing his neighbor's house to the tune of $2000. The incident occurred over seven months ago, and naturally the left has taken up the cause for the two miscreants that were killed. Joe's impeccable marksmanship, he shot both burglars with shotgun blasts, sends a message to others that would try to take someone else's hard earned money and goods. In Texas, a person has a right to use deadly force in certain circumstances to protect property, Joe was well within his rights to kill two people that should not have even been in the country in the first place. God bless Texas. Now, if only the rest of the U.S. would follow suit there would be less crime.
