Tax Cheats? It's the Democratic Way

First there was Tim Geithner, tax cheat, who was confirmed and now sits as Treasury Secretary, in charge of the IRS. Now comes another tax evader, Tom Daschle, who is poised to become Secretary of Health and Human Services, despite having the same problem as Gieithner. It seems that Daschle did not pay over 83K in 2007 taxes owed. This in addition to having failed to report a tax violation involving his use of a driver and limo. He voluntarily paid $101,943 in back taxes plus interest, working with his accountant to amend his tax returns for 2005 through 2007.

This should come as no surprise to any of us who have seen this pattern develop through the years. It's a culture of corruption firmly ensconced in the libs culture. Unless a Republican is found to be in violation, there is never any outrage.

The only mystery that remains surrounding Daschle's confirmation is how many RINOs will vote for him, offering their posteriors to the messiah.

Hannah Needs Us More Than Ever

Last month I passed on information about a little girl, Hannah Garman, a beautiful four year old girl suffering from an incurable brain tumor. Hannah's mother passed away two years ago--cancer. I told you then that Hannah's wish was to receive as many Christmas cards as possible. All of you responded in spectacular fashion.

Sadly, Hannah's condition has deteriorated. Her doctors advise that there is nothing more that can be done for her. Chemo and other treatments have not retarded her condition; her doctors are not even sure of how long she may have to live. Here is an update from Hannah's aunt, Michelle Reiff:

My name is Michelle Reiff, but to Hannah Garman, my little 5 year old niece, it is Aunt Shelly. I am writing this email hoping it gets mass emailed as quick as the benefit emails and all the other emails did….so I am asking all of you to please forward on to all your contacts, friends , family, anyone and everyone. You have all proved how amazing you are at coming together for a good cause and I thank each one of you from the bottom of my heart. I am asking just one more simple thing and the most important.

Today, we received news that the doctors said there is nothing more they can do for Hannah, that she hasn’t responded to chemo or radiation at all. The tumors have actually grown. They told her dad to just enjoy every day we have with her and that this brain cancer is so aggressive that they’re not even sure how long we may have with Hannah.

…I am asking for you to pray for the manifestation of the miracle of healing we have all been praying for to now begin to show itself to us. I believe that the power of prayer is huge, and God said if we ask, we will receive, but the biggest part, is we have to believe it has already been done. So now, we must claim her healing and watch for its manifestation in Hannah’s little body. No matter what signs I see, I will trust that God is still healing her. He has the attention of so many people all around the world right now with little Hannah and I know good things will continue to come from this.

I know the only way God doesn’t answer prayers like this the way we have come to him and asked is if he already knows there is something he doesn’t want Hannah to either go through or has already gone through and chooses for her to come home to him and be with her Mom in Heaven.But he tells us to stand and pray without ceasing. And he will do the rest. But if you don’t ask, he can’t give. So, please , I’m asking all of you to stand with me as we all ask God to now show us that he is the ultimate healer and ultimately it is his choice but in us asking, he is wanting to give us what we ask for but we also have to believe he has already given to us.

It's On

Obama took a swipe at Rush Limbaugh and the GOP yesterday, saying, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." Then he further rubbed their noses in the dirt when he said, ""I won, I will trump you on that." He was replying to Rep. Eric Cantor's (R-Va.) remarks about the stimulus proposal.

So, it appears that the gloves are off. The public facade of bi-partisanship, something that existed only the mind of John McCain, is finally gone. There was never any chance that the Dems would work with the Republicans on any issue. The only thing that remains to be seen is when the timid representatives that serve under the banner of the GOP, will finally crawl out of their hiding places and raise hell about what the libs are about to do to our country.

And by the way, have you ever heard Obama and company refer to the USA as, Number One, a World Leader, or an Icon of Freedom? Let me help you with your answer--No. And chances are you will never hear it from them because they don't want to offend other countries. All that the Dems know how to do is run our country down, and cause others to be ashamed of it. The real truth is that the USA is the strongest, most compassionate nation in the world. A country that has done more to cure Aids, stop hunger, secure freedom, and allow those that suffer persecution to become American citizens, than any other country---ever.

So it's on, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and all of your sycophants. We're not afraid of your empty rhetoric and posturing. We saw right through you during the campaign; nothing's changed. Bring it on. (Photo courtesy of: allposters.com)

The Exception To The Rule

Timothy Geithner, the new poster child for the befuddled taxpayer who can't figure out the tax code and pay his proper share, has apologized for his "mistake." He calculated his own tax returns while working for the International Monetary Fund between 2001 and 2004 and did not pay taxes on wages for four years. On the very same day that Obama was pontificating about how his staff will set the proper tone, righting the wrongs of the past administration, he also gave a dissertation on the importance of ethics, his nominee for Treasury Secretary was in front of Congress testifying about his lack of ethics.

You and I both know that if Geithner was a Republican, he wouldn't have even made it as far as the hearing itself--he would have been washed out quickly by the two-faced blowhards who themselves have lied and cheated their whole political lives to get where they are now.

Geithner may be well qualified for the position, his credentials seem to indicate that, but what's questionable is his judgment and integrity. He would have the public believe that he had no clue that not paying taxes was wrong. Furthermore, he employed an illegal alien--hello, hasn't this been a hotbed issue the last several years? This guy has no clue. Put him in charge of printing money...sure. And while you're at it, let's put Illinois Governor Blagoyevich in charge of campaign finance. C'mon Dems, at least call the nomination hearings what they are: Bozo's Circus.

True Colors

Despite what the left would want everyone to believe--that yesterday's event was a total love fest, that the entire country was infatuated with Obama--the libs proudly displayed their true colors. Even at a dignified event like the Inauguration, they felt compelled to show their disdain and hatred by mocking President Bush. And only the Fox network covered the Bush family's departure from Washington, where his final salute was of the one-fingered version given by an unidentified bystander. Tolerance, love, understanding...? Only if it fits the Dems template. Just as they've demonstrated in the past, it's their way or the highway. Brace yourself, the next four years will be a time like no other. Hope? None found here.

It's Happening Now...

The indoctrination of the country is now underway. Turn on the TV or radio—it’s all Obama, all the time. That’s to be expected at this point in time. What’s unusual, and for that matter, dangerous, is the strategy in place to ensure that everybody “toes the line,” to guarantee that all are on board with the new “Global President.” That’s right, global. For some reason, the office of President has now been expanded to include jurisdiction and authority over the entire world. “He’s going to change the world,” is the mantra being spouted by kool-aid drinking news people. It’s sickening, but what’s worse is that any voice of dissent is being stifled.

For example, in Dayton, OH, at Mason High School, the Superintendent has given orders to his school district that no one is to say anything inappropriate about Obama. He said, “… he expects students and staff to show respect for President-elect Obama and the incoming administration…” I thought that our schools were havens for discussion of ideas, for free-thinkers to talk about both sides of an issue.

This whole spectacle smacks of what we as a country have fought for since our inception: freedom. The ability to say what’s on our mind, to be free to disagree, which is the cornerstone of our country’s foundation. Has everyone forgotten that half of the country did not vote for Obama? There are millions of us in America that are not infatuated with this new President. We disagree with his policies. We mean no harm, but philosophically we are very far apart.

For so many years, we’ve watched Third World countries, socialist, Communist governments, that brain wash their citizenry. No voices of dissent were ever allowed to be heard. One rule only was permitted, that of the tyrant who held the office. All photos, statues, songs, history books, they all touted the party leaders’ philosophies. China, North Korea, Cuba—they are what the media is leading this country toward becoming: the adoration and total obedience to a ruler—The Mighty Lord and Savior, Barack Hussein Obama—President of the World! Living Water

We had just taken off yesterday afternoon on a Delta flight from Phoenix; I was on my way home from a business trip. As our plane reached an altitude of ten thousand feet, I turned on CNN on the individual TV screen on the seat in front of me. The breaking news story was about the miraculous water landing of a US Airways plane that had experienced engine problems. How disconcerting to see this live coverage while soaring higher and higher away from the peace and relative safety of terra firma. The fact that the reportage indicated everyone had survived, mitigated some of the immediate anxiety.

I pray each time that I fly, asking Him to grant me and my fellow passengers a safe journey. And at that moment, I found myself in prayer again, thanking Him for the people that had survived the accident. Faith is a comforting commodity. It has given me rest in times when I've grown weary with anxiety and trepidation--sometimes over the most trivial of matters. But I had to muse over the irony of the situation. Our existence begins in the life-giving waters of the amniotic fluid that nourishes and protects us inside of our loving mothers. When we leave the comfort and safety of that liquid cocoon, our next exposure is to the cleansing waters of Baptism. As we age and gain knowledge, we learn the importance of water as a medium in the Bible, e.g., the most sacred mystery involving water and wine--when our Lord performed a miracle at the behest of his Blessed Mother. How fitting then would it have been, if the Lord had called home that group of Believers , utilizing the same water that had given them the promise of Eternal Life? He works in mysterious ways.

Don't Be Judge And Jury

Former Bay Area Rapid Transit Officer Johannes Mehserle has been arrested and charged with murder in the New Year's Day shooting of Oscar Grant. A San Francisco judge advised that he saw no mitigating factors in the case, thus the charge of murder.

Knowing the left coast as I do, and given the recent public demonstrations protesting the shooting, my sense is that this officer is being tried and convicted in the press. I don't know much about the case, other than what I read in the papers, but it's been mentioned that perhaps the officer mistook his handgun for his Taser. It's happened with officers in the past.

My fear is that this warrior, who just became a new father a few days ago, will be sacrificed for the sake of public safety and discontent. It reminiscent of when Pontius Pilate told the crowd, "I am innocent of this man's blood," and then turned him over to the executioner.

Only One Week Remains

Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean continue to sit in their jail cells while the rest of the country goes gaga over the upcoming Inauguration of Obama. The only president that they're focused on is George Bush, who has yet to grant them a pardon. Whether or not you think they deserve to be in jail, consider that they've suffered far more than many of the thugs that we incarcerate for much more serious crimes. It's time they were released. Obama Piles On

President-elect Obama said that he will open up a dialogue with Hamas, which is the complete opposite of what President Bush has done the last eight years. Obama doesn't seem to mind that he will be negotiating with "terrorists," and by the way, how does one negotiate with an organization that has but one goal in mind: total annihilation of the Jewish Nation? Any discussions with Hamas lends credibility to them, which at this stage is ridiculous, given that past peace summits have done nothing to change their philosophy. Politics Gone Wild

It's all just too crazy: Panetta tapped to head the CIA, although he has zero Intelligence background. Franken, as the Senator from Minnesota, after a recount orchestrated to count ballots twice and resurrect those that were disallowed. Burris, attempting to be seated as the Senator from Illinois, even though Reid and his cohorts say that it will never happen. Remember last year if you will, the Democrat's mantra concerning the "Republican culture of corruption." You couldn't make this stuff up! What goes around, comes around.

Important Stuff or Not?

Israel is now sending troops inside Gaza to ferret out the troglodytes that would destroy the nation that God chose as His own. Pretty important stuff, this invasion and bombing campaign. The local media gives it short shrift, deferring instead to more important matters like Obama is now back in town, Obama memorabilia is selling like hotcakes, Obama's family will be staying at a certain hotel...non-stop Obama news. The Shack

New Year's Eve--a great way to begin 2009--I finished reading "The Shack." I purchased the book several weeks ago, but waited to read it until I could fully focus on it alone. It was well worth the wait. It's a glorious story of love and forgiveness. The author, Wm. Paul Young, does a fantastic job of providing a tangible, living, breathing God in all three of his beings: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If you are a believer, if you have questions about your faith, or if you are just looking for a good read, this story is for you. I highly recommend this novel for the entire family.
